Generations of Farming
The LaBrucherie family history in agriculture dates back to the 1910’s after Jean Pierre LaBrucherie left France and established a dairy farm in the Imperial Valley. In the 1950’s Jean Pierre’s son, Matt LaBrucherie, expanded the family farm into vegetable production. Today, over 100 years later, the legacy continues with the 3rd and 4th generations. Tim LaBrucherie, and his son J.P., have transitioned all of the family ground to organic production, and now focus almost exclusively on organic farming! Although the farm is quite different than it was 100 years ago, the family farming motto remains the same, “Our Crops Feed The Nation.”

Feeding The Nation
LaBrucherie proudly grows over 30 different organic vegetables, including: kale, green chards, red chards, mizuna, broccoli, cauliflower, arugula, iceberg lettuce, romaine, corn, onions, carrots, leeks, turnips, dill, spring mix, spinach, celery, cilantro, parsley, radishes, green cabbage, red cabbage, Swiss chard, fennel, kohlrabi, red leaf lettuce, green leaf lettuce, and multi leaf lettuces. Our crops help feed both the United States and Canada; providing healthy, fresh organic vegetables from late October through mid-March.
Affiliated Companies
The LaBrucherie family’s agribusiness goes beyond vegetable farming and includes beef cattle production and export of hay crops to Pacific Rim countries including China, Japan and Korea, under the business names El Toro Land and Cattle Company and El Toro Export. Also, El Toro Export markets durum wheat throughout the United States and Italy.
Innovation for the Future
The LaBrucherie family’s latest venture in the agriculture sector is a focus on water conservation. Roughly twenty years ago, LaBrucherie Irrigation Supply was launched in order to provide guidance, materials and service to farmers for their water use and conservation needs; with the goal of ensuring quality produce for years to come.
Everything Organic Focused
Within the last decade, LaBrucherie Produce has converted all of the family’s farm land to organic farming; which required a tremendous amount of work and resources. Our focus is simple: if we want to continue farming successfully, all of our attention must be placed on the health of our consumers and the well-being of our Mother Earth.
